Last Friday we said fairwell to our much loved, hard-working, super-star janitor, Mr Nicholson.
Mr Nicholson has been with us for seven years and has contributed so very much to making SMPS the wonderful school that it is. He has spent his days making sure every last one of us has been safe, comfortable and happy, always, always, with a smile and a remarkably positive attitude. Our one-of-a-kind janitor has been a real role model for the children and has been an invaluable source of support and advice to staff and parents alike.
P3-7 gathered in the stairwell to sing ‘You are a Star’ to Mr Nicholson and present him with a special gift – a beautiful book made up of cards prepared by each of the P2-7 classes.
Pupils, staff, members of the parent-council and special guests including Mr Nicholson’s lovely wife and daughter were all treated to a heartwarming rendition of ‘Hey, Jude’ – Mr Nicholson’s favourite song! – by talented p7 duo Marina and Hannah.
We will all really miss Mr Nicholson at school and wish him a truly amazing retirement.
