All the Primary 5 classes kicked off their Rainforest topic with a trip to the Royal Botanical Gardens. Having dressed for the cold weather, we then headed for the hot houses to learn about the plants and food you would find growing in the Rainforest. We enjoyed seeing cocoa beans and ginger growing amidst lots of other plants, and even got to enjoy some papaya and chocolate at the end of our trip. We also enjoyed learning about how people who live in the Rainforest would catch their food. We saw how it is done by one of our classmates shooting a dart at a pretend monkey (a balloon!).
