Today, all of Primary 7 visited “The Risk Factory”. The Risk Factory is an interactive safety centre. They manufacture everyday risks in a safe environment and aim to teach people how to deal with or avoid risks altogether. Their aim is to provide high quality, interactive community safety education, which will help to develop pro-active citizenship.
All of the children had the opportunity to see how they would react in dangerous situations, and whether they could spot risks and make good decisions. They didn’t always know the right thing to do or make the right choices… but now they have learned by their mistakes and are better informed for the future when the risks could be real.
This was a really worthwhile excursion and the children have all reported feeling that they learned a lot from the day.
