The P3s have had an exciting day today! We’ve had a visit from Generation Science and we’ve been doing lots of fun things with magnets. Did you know that magnets have a north pole and a south pole and they can attract and repel? Our experiments showed the magnetic field and we know that a compass can tell us where North is. Very useful if we get lost! We saw pictures of the Aurora Borealis (also known as the Northern Lights) – that happens in the northern hemisphere. We also learned that the Earth has a core of iron and it has a magnetic field. And did you know that some coins are magnetic and some are not? Look at our investigations.
