Primary 7 – National War Museum

Today the first of our classes visited the National War Museum and National War Memorial based at Edinburgh Castle. Over the coming days all of our P7 children will have an opportunity to attend this trip and take part in 3 activities –

(1) A teacher-led workshop in the ‘1940s Warlife Room’  where they can examine and handle objects from the period around WWII.

(2) A WWII trail around the National War Museum.

(3) Time to reflect and investigate in the National War Memorial.

The children really enjoyed handling the objects and learning about the lives of real people who lived through WWII. They were very interested in the National War Memorial, and were a credit to the school whilst visiting – their behaviour was impeccable and they conducted themselves in a mature, respectful way. They were praised by the Memorial staff which was amazing. Well done P7!
