This week we are lucky to have visitors from the Lyceum coming to work with the P3s as preparation for our trip to the Lyceum to see “The Arabian Nights”. The children have been/will be hearing a bit about the show, making connections between their own experiences and characters and events from the show and making themselves into freeze-frame images from given scenes. We are very excited to see the real thing soon!
Next week will be our last week of reading and homework till after the New Year. Please make sure that all reading books are returned to the school on Monday 11th December. If you have signed up to be a parent helper at the Big Read on any days from Monday 11th till we break for Christmas, please see the class teacher as she may want help with Christmas crafts etc – you don’t escape that easily ;-).
The deadline for the return of work and report forms from our RLS topic (and, in the case of P3B, the Sukkot topic too) is this Friday (1st December). Please don’t forget to return the bags they came home in too, as we will need these for the next batch of reporting. Thank you to those who have already returned everything.
This week’s homework:
- Reading -See the homework/reading diary/jotter for details.
- Spelling – Please learn this week’s spelling pattern and complete a spelling activity – and please make sure you have your spelling jotter at school on Fridays!
- Maths – Please continue to do lots of oral practise of the 2, 5 and 10 times table to increase speed and accuracy. For a fun way to practise them, have a go at Beat Box Tables (not tablet friendly – sorry).
And our child-friendly weekly plan:
