Welcome back! It looks like Spring might finally have arrived – not a moment too soon!
Thank you to everyone who remembered to bring a pencil case equipped with writing pencils, a rubber, a pencil sharpener and a glue stick – it is much appreciated. If your child is still missing any of these items, please could you replace them ASAP.
Other things that need to be sent in to school are your child’s PE kit and, for P3A and P3C, the RME reporting feedback.
There is no spelling this week but please remember to pack your spelling jotters for next Monday.
Here is this week’s homework:
- Reading – See reading/homework jotters/diaries.
- Reading Challenge – Please keep noting any books read at home.
- Spelling – No new spelling this week – please use this as a revision week.
- Maths – This week we are working on rounding numbers up and down to the nearest 10 and using this to estimate the results of calculations – eg 23 + 48 is close to 20 + 50 so the result will be around 70). If you want to practise rounding numbers, try playing Dartboard Rounding, keeping to “nearest 10” (not tablet-friendly – sorry). If you choose from the left-hand column, you can work mentally/orally and click the pink section to reveal the correct answer. If you choose from the right-hand column, click on the pink section adjacent to a given number and then click on the numerals to enter the correct number – finally, click on “check” when you have finished.
And here is the child-friendly plan:
