Admissions

South Morningside Admissions:

P1 Admissions for August:

Each year we hold an enrolment day in November for new P1s due to start the following August. Enrolment takes place at the South Morningside Infant School (‘Deanbank’, 35 Canaan Lane, EH10 4SG).

In Edinburgh, families have to register at their ‘catchment’ school.

For more information please click here.

To save time you may choose to download the enrolment form here, complete and bring it along on the day.

On the day parents need to bring along:

  • the child’s birth certificate
  • council-tax statement (current year)
  • utility bill showing that the family reside within catchment address.(within the last 6 months)

*It would be hugely helpful, and much appreciated, if you were able to bring with you a copy of the documents as well as the originals

After the enrolment day in November the school can continue to take P1 registrations up until the end of February. If you are resident within the school’s catchment area by this date, please come in to the P3-P7 building on Comiston Road with the required documents.

If you move to the area after the end of February we would need to get in touch with School Placements at the City of Edinburgh Council once the required documents are received. There is further information on the documents which can be downloaded here.
