Work for week beginning 25th May
Hi everyone, there will be no literacy or numeracy grids this week as all p5-7 pupils will be doing an exciting new topic called ‘Developing the Young Workforce’. Literacy and numeracy activities have been embedded in the Developing the Young Workforce learning grid. All the resources you will need will also be found on your class Team page. You need to listen to the video first before you complete any of the activities as it gives you a detailed explanation about you need to do.
See below for the information video;
See below for the learning grid;
Your extended writing task will be on Assignments and should be uploaded to your class teacher by Friday 29th May. We hope you enjoy it!
Remember to click on the link above to be directed to Mrs Morgan’s weekly newsletter to keep up to date with all the new and exciting things happening in the school. We hope the weather gets better over the weekend so we can all take part in walking 5oo Morningside Miles for 500 miles. See the links above for more information.
Have a great weekend everyone!
19.5.20 Here’s your literacy and numeracy grids for this week. Remember to log on to your Fever team page and learn the songs for the Scottish Opera. Also, send Mrs Morgan any pictures of all the wonderful things you have been doing from the Food Technology grid. Have a good week!
New Science topic – Light
How light travels powerpoint will be on your Science Team and Class team page.
Here’s your Literacy grid and Numeracy grid for week beginning 11th May. Remember tomorrow is a holiday so that is why you are getting your work today for next week. Remember you will find all your grids on your class Team page as well.
Ongoing learning will continue with the previously issued grids. This is the last week of your 1980’s topic. Remember to let Mrs Morgan know if you are doing anything exciting from the Food Technology grid- you can email her pictures.
This week we will be trying out ‘Assignments’ on your class Team page. This will be a new way for you to be issued your writing task and hand in your finished work. You will no longer be uploading your extended writing task to One Note. When you hand in your work through ‘Assignments’ we will be able to mark it and then return it to you through ‘Assignments’. The P7’S have trialled this method and it has been very successful.
I can’t believe we have now completed 5 weeks of home learning. We are really proud of you all. Well done!
Fingers crossed the sun comes back out this weekend. Have a great weekend everyone!
Literacy – below is your grid along with the leaflet template. The template is here incase anyone has problems accessing Teams.

Monday 27th April
Thank you for all your hard work this week and thanks for letting us know how you are getting on. It has been so lovely to see so many of you checking in on the class Team pages over the past week. It has been great to see you all help one another by answering questions and giving advice. If you haven’t checked in with your class teacher in Teams yet, please try to do so in the next couple of days. It’s really important we hear from you. We know there have been quite a few issues for some of you trying to get onto Teams or OneNote – hopefully most of your problems have been resolved, but if not, we promise we are working on a solution to them. This is a new way of working for all of us, so please do not panic if something doesn’t work.
The work is attached to this post but it will also be available in the relevant Team page. If you have any issues throughout the week, please contact your class teacher directly through Teams and they will get back to you as soon as possible.
Have a good week!
See all resources and planning grids below:-
Topic You have a new topic grid based on the 1980s (to last 3 weeks). Pick one or two activities to complete each week if you can manage.
Food technology for the term:-
Tuesday 21st April
Good morning everyone! We hope you all had a lovely break and were able to spend some quality time outside in the sunshine. It has been so nice having such great weather for a change. We hope you are ready for another week of home learning!
We will continue to update you on our class page, but you will find everything you need on Teams in your 365 account. When you go to your class Team’s page go to the ‘file’ section and you will find the class materials you need there.
Try and plan out your week so you are able to complete your set tasks. Remember to upload your writing task so your teacher can give you feed back. It would be really helpful if you tell your teacher on Teams that you have uploaded your piece of writing.
If you have questions post on your class team, or send a private message to your teacher by pressing the pencil icon at the top of the page on teams.
Remember to just try your best!

We have completed our first week of home schooling. I hope you are enjoying working through the learning grids that were issued in your learning packs. If you can, try and upload some of your work to your One Note profile so your teachers can see how you are getting on. Don’t worry if you don’t manage it. Also, try and keep up with current affairs by watching Newsround every day.
Remember Joe Wicks has a great workout every day at 9am which is saved on his you Tube page to do whenever you like.
Remember to login into Sum dog every day and practice your skills. We can see how well you are doing and the time you spend on it. We might even set you a few challenges to complete.
Now is a really good time to work on your tables. Use the websites below to help you.
Please try to spend some time each day completing silent reading on a book of your choice. Try to aim for a minimum of 20minutes each day. There are also stories on audible which are free to listen to.

We are really impressed with everyone who has logged onto Sumdog this week and tried to complete some of the challenges. If you haven’t logged on try to do it this week so your class teacher can see your progress with the variety of activities.
